For those of you who may have missed the STRANGE WEATHER CD Release show in Wolfville last December, we'll be doing a CD Release Reprise show in Berwick at The Union St. Cafe/Wick Pub!

Ryan and Scott Hupman, Mike Carroll, Bob Federer, and I will be playing songs from the new album as well as some favorites from the last couple of discs. Make a night of it...the best menu in the Valley, wonderful staff, quality beers and wines and mouth-watering desserts...AND some rockin' tunes played by some of the best musicians in the Maritimes! I will be opening for Stephen Fearing and Erin Costelo on Friday, March 30, at the Al Whittle Theatre in Wolfville. Stephen and Erin have been asked to collaborate on a special hour-long presentation of new music which will be recorded by CBC at this show! I will be playing songs from my last two cds and maybe a new one or two...don't miss this show!

My new cd, STRANGE WEATHER, is now available for purchase! Either contact me via the website, find me at an upcoming show, or check cdbaby.com in the next couple of weeks for mail order in the USA.

There will be a CD Release Show at The Al Whittle Theatre in Wolfville on December 17. The Hupman Brothers Band will help me play the songs from the cd as well as selections from Memory Well and Brickyard Road. I'll be selling the cd for half-price at this show, I hope to see you there!

Also, we will be doing a live recording of James Stevenson's performance at The End Of The Line Pub on October 26. If you want to add your eager support to the vibe of James' upcoming cd, I urge you to come on down, it's gonna be one heck of a good time!

An acoustic trio with the Hupmans in St. Croix on Saturday, June 18...

Another Barn Dance at the Old Orchard Inn with The Hupman Brothers Band on Saturday, June 25...

The Hupman Brothers Band make their Bridgetown debut at The End Of The Line Pub on Thursday, June 30...

Playing at Bearly's in Halifax with The Hupman Bros. Band, Friday and Saturday, July 8 & 9...

...and playing in no less than THREE bands for the SMOKIN' BLUES FEST outside of Aylesford, July 14 and 15 (drums with Dayliner, guitar with Kickin' Mule, and guitar (maybe mandolin?) with The Hupman Bros.)...

...and come August, a couple shows in PEI with the Hupmans for the Jazz and Blues Festival!

Yikes! I suddenly remembered I have a website, and I should maybe update it. Mr. Self Promotion needs to come out of winter hibernation!

What's up? Well, I am done tracking/mixing/mastering my next cd...it's called Strange Weather and features twelve new songs with, as usual, yours truly playing all the instruments and singing and mic'ing the drumset in as many different ways as I could think of...as soon as the cover is ready, it'll be available for sale. CD Release show is likely.

I've been having a blast playing acoustic shows with The Hupman Brothers, and discovered that the mandolin is really just a tiny guitar with four pairs of strings tuned across the seventh fret...which I pretty much knew before, but it just sort of hit me in a "hey, i can do this!" kinda way...of course, this eureka moment occurred onstage with Ryan and me trading licks while Scott held everything down on his acoustic baritone guitar...which just goes to show, you can read the manual all you want but sometimes the best way to learn is to jump on in and maybe make a fool of yourself in front of paying customers...

For those of you who have recently pointed out that my calendar has a lot of cobwebs and dust, let me say that I have just given it a good spring-clean and everything should be current for now. I will let you know when the new cd has been shrinkwrapped, and yes, gotta book that cd release show...

Hey y'all,

I am looking forward to a lighter gig schedule and hunkering down for some winter recording. I will still be at the End Of The Line Pub in Bridgetown every Wednesday hosting the Open Mic, and there are some Hupman Brothers gigs here and there, but I am hoping to get the second half of my next cd done (five songs tracked so far!) in the next couple months.

THE HUPMAN BROTHERS BAND will be playing two shows for the release of our new cd, LOVE SEAT (vol. 1). See you in Shelburne (Osprey Arts Center) November 20, and in Wolfville (Al Whittle Theatre) November 27!!

Also, thanks to everybody who came out for the Neil Young Birthday Tribute, and all the musicians who took part. Hearing a sold-out theatre stomping in unison for encores was quite the thrill!
